That's it, all done. Easy when you know how
Duncan Miller Wrote:Hi there - was hoping somebody might be able to help me out with a tiny umbrella issue.
Ever since I got my ATV I have been unable to save my SHSH blobs with tiny umbrealla.
My ATV is recognised (only when it is plugged in power and usb)
I click save and then it says that every single firmware I am too late for - even the most current ones.
anyway I went ahead and jail broke my 4.2.1. (4.1.1.) ATV2 and installed XBMC etc.. and all was fine but a few days ago it broke (got stuck on apple logo).
So I have had to restore it - funny thing is Apple let me restore it with 4.2.1 so I guess that means that they must still be signing it - however tinyumbrella still refuses to save my SHSH blobs for any firmware at all
So I must be doing something wrong right....?
Can anyone shed any light on this? I am on windows 7 64bit - do I have to do something special (like DFU) or not use power or anything??

Duncan Miller Wrote:Thanks for this - However, have already seen that though
My problem is not that tinyumbreall will not recognise my device - it does recognise it (comes up with the device name, firmware version 4.2.1. ECID and serial etc..
That tutorial seems to assume you are having trouble with getting Tu to see the ATV2
Also its a MAC guide and doesn't say how to manually find the ECID for a windows machine
and this is what I get if I try to untick the box (hadn't tried that last time)
5/21/2011 07:24:39.340 Started saving SHSHs for [Bedroom Apple TV] 05/21/2011 07:24:41.353 This device isn't eligible for the requested build. 05/21/2011 07:24:41.353 APPLE is NOT signing AppleTV 4.3.1 (8F202) SHSH requests anymore. All you can do now is select CYDIA and hope that CYDIA has your SHSH saved. If not, there is nothing you can do. 05/21/2011 07:24:41.368 Finished saving SHSHs for [Bedroom Apple TV] 05/21/2011 07:24:41.400 Caching shsh files... 05/21/2011 07:24:41.400 Found [0] shsh files to cache... 05/21/2011 07:24:41.400 Cached [0] shsh files
Now the confusing things are:
- that not one SHSH for any firmware in the first example will save
and in the second example its attempting to get 4.3.1 instead of 4.2.1
- keeping in mind that apple (itunes) itself let me restore with 4.2.1. just moments before I tried this yesterday
I have one silly question - I dont have to jailbreak before I try this do I?
