[DEPRECIATED] XBMC Subtitles - Addon Script (previously OpenSubtitles OSD)
j777jsy Wrote:Hi Amet et al

I am a XBMC naive person. I will try and explain my problem. I don't get subtitles despite trying few of the options that people have already mentioned..

My debug logs are here

part 1 - http://pastebin.com/TLHThT59

part 2 - http://pastebin.com/1tNXHQmr

I usually stream movies from icefilm rather than downloading it completely. Hence I prefer to have subtitles at the same time. I download the subtitles using podnapisi.net with username and password... it says its downloaded but nothing happens when the movie continues....ie. no subtitles

on the xbmc subtitles setting page under services I have ticked open subtitles.org and subscene.com and undertexter.se

I have also unticked "subtitle download folder same as movie"

downolod folder is /var/mobile/downloads both on the settings and also on system/videos - setting subtitle folder

Dont' know what else to do to get the subtitles..tried a few movies without much effect.

Please help .. Thanks

J

it shows that the srt file has been copied to /var/mobile/Downloads/ but that it couldnt be activated.. that is strange... It would only happen if the srt is invalid(as in not the subtitles file).. what do you have in /var/mobile/Downloads/?

hi,

yes, you could help with implementation... if you create the working service, I will gladly add it in the XBMC Subtitle.

fork a github repo, use one of the existing services to see how to communicate with the main gui.py. once you are ready request the pull there

Cheers,
amet

I've got repositories stored in it!! Would that be the reason for not activating it!!
j777jsy Wrote:I've got repositories stored in it!! Would that be the reason for not activating it!!

question is, is the .srt file downloaded there or not?
amet Wrote:question is, is the .srt file downloaded there or not?

No.. I don't think it's downloaded!! .. what to do ?Sad
j777jsy Wrote:No.. I don't think it's downloaded!! .. what to do ?Sad

the issue could be with xbmc not having write access in /var/mobile/Downloads/

try a different folder, or try using xbmc filemanager to copy something into /var/mobile/Downloads/ and verify that its done successfully

any reason you are using march 8 version of nightly build? update to the latest xbmc nightly and update the XBMC Subtitles to the eden-pre version

Dharma:

Code:
[script.xbmc.subtitles] -v2.5.4

   - fixed: OpenSubtitles search
   - added: SuperSubtitles service, thx kispaljr and mukka

Eden-pre:
NOTE: you need to enable "Auto downloading first 'sync' subtitle" in addon settings to enable the new GUI-less feature. it is still early stages, so any comments are welcome, although I wont have much time in the next 3-4 weeks
Code:
[script.xbmc.subtitles] -v2.9.13

   - OpenSubtitles fix and re-factor search
-- download first "sync" subtitle will attempt to download without bringing the window up, if unsuccessful it will work as usual
   - added: SuperSubtitles service, thx kispaljr and mukka
Hi,

Superb plugin use it a lot!

I found the next;
My TV series are post processed by Sickbeard to format: Sons of Anarchy - 3x01 - So.mkv
The space between the end of the filename and the "-" causes the formatting of the API request to be: 'http://api.bierdopje.com/369C2ED4261DE9C3/GetShowByName/Sons+of+Anarchy+'

That last + makes the return "false", removing it gives a valid result. I've renamed a couple of episodes manually and it does fixes the problem of getting the ID from bierdopje.

Is this known?

I searched all over as I was convinced that more people must have run into this. Not found, so apologies up front if this is old and known.
Samsung 50" 3D Plasma, I'm old school, like to do everything from one main pc, Core i7 930, Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7, 2x ATi 5750, 1x SSD, 8TB HD total.
XBMC with 3D subs working, SpotyXBMC2, XBMC Android remote, Sickbeard, SABnzbd+, Newsleecher.
60Mb Internet
As you see below, I been here asking before.

But a really nice feature would be to make a "collective" search through all sites delivering subs, a search where it is transparent of where the sub is found.
At the end of the day (search), I´m not really interested in WHERE the sub is found, more of it´s language and sync ratio.

Anyway, thanks for a great add-on feature to XBMC.

doman Wrote:Hi!

I´m using and liking this script.

Just one thing. It´s only when I install the script I care about which sites it uses for downloading subs. I also set my preferred lanuage then.

When using the script, I want it to loop through all sites and then present the result, filtered as I wanted in the setup of the script. Now I have to search again for each and every site if the first one´s didn´t came up with any result for example

And then a question:
Sometimes a "sync" icon appears next to the subtitle name in the resulttable, what does that mean?
