Hi, sorry if this was asked before, I searched and read faq but didn't find an answer.

Basically, when I choose "Movies" in xbmc's main window, it shows a list of both my movies and my tvshows. How can I make it show only movies?

I keep movies and tv shows in separate folders on my drive.

There is no option to have Movies and TV Shows in "Movies". They are separate by default.

Are they scanned into your library?

Sounds like you might be navigating in file mode if your seeing an option for both through movies

What do you see when you go into 'TVShows' from your main menu? Both TV shows and movies, just TV Shows, or Nothing at all?

My guess is you have your movie source set one folder level too high, ie
C:/media files folder/
......./Movies/
......./TV Shows/
If your source folder for your Movies is actually set on 'media files folder' then everything contained in that folder can appear under your movies in your Library View mode as you describe.
