[OBSOLETE] Pandora Radio (Script) Music Addon
I just installed version 1.2.9 from the first post in this thread, and it works great except one minor visual annoyance. The station list is too long for the background image. The list of stations expands above and below the background. Here is a screenshot:

odd... it works for me fine at 1920x1080 and at 1080x720. What resolution are you using?

1280x1024, but that seems to be the issue. I am just setting this up on the bench connected to a monitor, but will be moving it to my LCD TV once it's configured. Changing to 1080x720 solved the issue for me. I wish I had thought of that before posting. Thanks!

Is there a shuffle mode like the web app where I can shuffle all my stations?

What about a mode to do the screensaver like what used to be on Boxee?

Is there some documentation somewhere that I am missing? (Like what the zzz does......)

Great app BTW.

Great app BTW.

zzz as in sleep, as in tired of a song, put on shelf for a while.

friedfarmer Wrote:Well I stumbled unto more info regarding this issue:

#1. When running xbmc in windowed mode it works fine, no stopping after 4 songs. Also on the pandora startup screen the last icon in bottom row is "zzz". Everything runs perfectly.
#2. When running in true fullscreen it stops after 4 songs. Must restart it by clicking on a channel again, then 4 songs again, etc. etc. etc. Also the last icon on Pandora startup screen bottom row is a "circled i" not the zzz's.
#3. I tried full screen in windowed mode and still stops after 4 songs. Last icon on Pandora startup screen bottom row is a "circled i" not the zzz's.

So it appears the issue has definitely something to do with the windows screen mode.

any ideas?

Ok, I'm still trying to resolve my issue as stated above.
I found further info: If I start the latest pandora script
with XBMC in (display screen) (systems settings) windowed mode it works fine. I can then enter (display screen) full screen mode and it still works fine,
but if I start it while in any (display screen) full screen mode it stops playing after 4 songs. So I would assume it's has to do with the login while in any mode but windowed mode. I am stumped! any suggestions?

Is there a full screen visualizer that won't burn-in your plasma? I like the bars visualizer used now, but you are going to get some serious burn-in on your plasma or lcd if you use it for any length of time because of the static images like the guitar in the background.

Any visualizer available like the Pandora app for Boxee? That was cool when the Pandora app used to be available on the PC Boxee software.

The UI in the Pandora Script needs an overhaul. It just needs to be simplified. It looks like whoever designed it went a little over the top with the Photoshop effects and has a big "90's web 2.0" feel to it.

The "thumbs up" button does not stay highlighted to let you know that you liked the song.

The "Zzz" or "I'm tired of this song" option does not need to be on the main menu. It should be in a sub menu to the side along with "Bookmark this artist" and "Bookmark this song"

The Typography could use some work as far as the Title Artist and Album go.

friedfarmer Wrote:I've been having a problem with v1.2.9
It will play exactly 4 songs in any channel then it stops until I select a channel again.
This was not occuring when v1.2.8 was working. Any ideas?

Windows 7
latest nightly xbmc build

(FIXED)
I finally found a solution to this problem.
When I change my full screen resolution in (system settings, system) to 1768 x 992 it fixes it. I was running it in 1176 x 664. There are several full screen resolutions which make this plug-in to have the "stop after 4 songs problem in full screen mode" and several that allows it to run correctly. Funny thing is that the resolutions that make the plug-in exhibit the problem also make the "zzz" icon to change to a white filled circle with an "i" in the middle of it as well and I can't find that icon in the media subdirectory of the plugin.

PS. Thank you so much spbogie for all your hard work on this addon, it is one of the most used around here!

That's some great detective work Friedfarmer. I hope those clues are specific enough to allow for a real bug fix, vs. everyone having to run at a resolution that may not be a good match for their display.

As a very recent re-convert to XBMC I haven't been following this thread long -- does this script still have active developer(s)? I'm trying to decide what media platform to convert a bunch of rooms to and Pandora availability may be a deciding factor.

Well brucek2, As I have been using this Pandora script weekly for awhile now and the developer has modified it in a timely manner each time changes were necessary (IMHO). My problems were perhaps unique ie: resolution, platform, xbmc build etc.. than others here. It seems most did not experience the problem that I had. I would say the developer is still right on top of it. You're thinking of going back to XBMC? Were have you beenSmile I run XBMC, PC Boxee, Zinc and Kylo. Being a cable cutter, for my needs I believe the lastest version of XBMC with the Transparency skin is just simply awesome. Though you have to make sure you understand how to configure it right for your specific needs. No worry though, there has been info out there for the most part. That's the beauty of free open-source projects and the people that dedicate their time to them.

So I just noticed that there is an update to Pandora on my Android phone...that ususally spells bad news for this script and sure enough it's no longer working. Getting the following in my log file:

Also pianobar (text version of Pandora) is no longer working as well, so it's a universal problem...curse Pandora for constantly making updates Sad!

The XBMC team, plug-in devs, skinners, etc. do this for us for FREE in their spare time because they want to. Think about that for a second before you start bitching...

I"m not sure what the issue is for me, so I'll explain:

10.1 Dharma, Win7x64, xbmc-pandora 1.2.9

First off, the plugin doesn't show up in my add-ons list. i manually added to my favourites list, and run it from there.

I run the plugin, it says "running script" for a few seconds, then "logging in", then loads the script. Then it shows "Fetching Stations", then loads the screen, complete with my list of stations.

i elect a station (using the keyboard and the enter key, using the mouse and clicking on it, using the MCE remote i navigate with) and nothing happens. no playing, no sound, no current song image. I refetch keys, reboot xbmc, same thing. i've tried different audio streams, no difference.

Since there is no error, I can't really provide an error log. any help would be appreciated.

You're having the same problem as everyone else, not much you can do right now until one of the programming guru's figure it out. The issue appears to be resolved in Pianobar (which this script is based on).
