Trailers?

Quote:11. You know, i’m really busy and don’t have time to watch a full movie, can’t i just watch the trailer instead?
Yup, if there’s a trailer available, you notice a special trailer icon in fanart and slide view. Just click it and you’ll be able
to watch the trailer in a preview window.
If you like to see it in fullscreen instead:
Settings > Skin Settings > General > Always play trailers fullscreen.

In the FAQ it mentions trailers... I nvr even knew this was an option... how do you set this up... dose it like link to youtube or something, or do I need to download each trailer and place it in a special place?

I have been using media companion to make my library if that helps at all.

you can enable trailers in the xbmc scrapers (imdb & tmdb).
another option is to manually add a trailer to each movie.

no clue about media companion. i think ember at least supports it.

Thanks... got this working...

Is there a way to easily select the trailer once it is working... at the moment I have a small film can icon in the top right of my screen (I am using FANART view). I think this is the trailer thing... I hit info and the info screen loads and can select the trailer icon from there....

How do I click on the trailer icon on the main page? I am using LIVE with a remote. Left brings up the menu, and right selects the scroll bar, right again opens the menu again... so I can not see a way to view the trailer with out loading the info screen....

Is there a way to do that?

in fanart view, press left once and the trailer icon should be focused.
pressing left again will bring up the side menu.

Where is a good place for trailers in 720p or better....

Many older films even "recent" old films do not have HD trailers on youtube.... I have been using the code were XXXXXXXXXXX is the youtube ID code

plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=XXXXXXXXXXX

This in the nfo will make xbmc use the youtube plugin to play the youtube video... so that is all good.. but as I said many trailers are not HD

Q:- Are there any other online trailer places that have HD 720p trailers for older films, that can be played from a URL?
Q:- What is the naming convention if I download the trailers and store them locally?

Here's the ones I use

http://trailers.apple.com/
http://www.movie-list.com/
http://www.movierange.com/
http://trailerfreaks.com/
http://www.hd-trailers.net/

There's an app for hd-trailers.net that will download them for you

Also if you have each movie in its own folder you can name trailers exactly "movie-trailer.ext" which makes renaming them easier as you can do them all at once
