I'm trying to watch Return of the Jedi (DVD, original disk, not a copy). The menu works fine, but for whatever reason, it can't get past the 20th Century Fox/Lucasfilm intro part when I go to watch the actual movie. Once the Lucasfilm bit fades out, it goes back to the beginning and starts playing the 20th Century Fox bit again.

Trying to skip forward or fast forward does nothing but make it go back to the beginning faster. Anyone know why this is happening?

EDIT: And it has worked in the past on standalone DVD players.
