I found more movies doing this unfortunately, but I found what it is. It's the bitstreaming. If I turn it off for the format in question (DTS) the movie plays normally.
Does anybody have any ideas what might be happening here?
Is it possible to use LAV video with something else for the audio (e.g. ffdshow)?
EDIT: I'll fiddle with the filters section to try to get ffdshow going for the audio. Since it's bitstreaming I don't care much what takes care of it, but the video part should be LAV (since from what I can gather it has better PQ).
Ok so this was not encouraging obviously... I set ffdshow as the audio filter, but I still get the same problem. When bitstreaming for DTS is turned on the movies lag with no audio at about 20 instead of 24/25 FPS.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
UPDATE: I tried with a different splitter (Gabest), since I read that the splitter sometimes could cause similar problems. Didn't help. I even tried using ffdshow for the video but the problem persists.
UPDATE 2: I restored everything to LAV filters and pasted a debug log here if anyone can see anything weird http://pastebin.com/2K4a4meK
UPDATE 3: I was getting a bit worried that it might be my general setup, so I tried MPC-HC, using ffdshow for audio with passthrough enabled. This worked without problems, it passes through the audio correctly and the video plays normally. I have a sample file of this movie in case of interest.
