Is it possible? This would allow seamless integration of online staff int the common library, and represent a major improvement of XBMX experience.

I am not a developer. And in the aforementioned request you guys discuss the underlying library structure, it doesn't tell me much.
What I am suggesting from user perspective:
We add smth to favorites (tv show directory in the online service, tuxbox channel stream, etc.), then we go to favorites, call context menu, select "Manually add to library", and get new corresponding entry in the library. Then it can be customized with thumb image, fanart etc.
