I have a little problem with my Remote and lirc. When I check if lirc config is working I use the command IRW in the Terminal. Everything is working fine there.
When I start XBMC the remote does not work. Later I found out, that also xbmc will work with the remote after I use the command to restart the Lirc service and the deamons.

At the moment I use a script to restart lirc before starting xbmc. Works this way but is only a workaround.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason for this problem?

i have a similar issue with hp remote. what did you choose in lirc as a driver?
what is the command to reset the lirc service?
