i have been using xbmc (windows based) for 2 years without any problem, and now i decided to switch to xbmc live but i can't get 5.1 audio. i have the old sound blaster live 5.1.

help/suggestion/tutorials would be greatly appreciated and go easy on me, im new to linux.

I'm an avid Linux user and I'm having sound problems too and can't seem to figure them out. A first step would be to check the logs in /home/[username]/.xbmc/temp/ and see what the errors and warnings say. Mine is apparently the a problem with PulseAudio.
