I've been running XBMC since the original xbox version and have recently been running Dharma under Win 7 on an Acer Aspire Revo.
All was going beautifully until yesterday (16 October) when XBMC started to crash shortly after startup.
I fire up XBMC and after perhaps 5 seconds it crashes and I get more details like this:-
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BEX
Application Name: XBMC.exe
Application Version: 10.0.0.0
Application Timestamp: 4d76cc6c
Fault Module Name: XBMC.exe
Fault Module Version: 10.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 4d76cc6c
Exception Offset: 003ebd5f
Exception Code: c0000409
Exception Data: 00000000
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 3081
Additional Information 1: 6e07

Additional Information 3: c8d5
Additional Information 4: c8d589bbaac358ce6963926a4d6eedc5
Interestingly, I noticed a Windows update, so I reverted to a restore point a few days earlier, but this has made no difference. I re-installed XBMC. No difference.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jon
I've just seen this at the very end of the xbmc log:-
ERROR: filerar::open failed to open file in cache: special://temp/rarfolder0000/Assets1_1.zip
The timestamp is 4 seconds after the very first entry, and co-incides with the timing of the crash.
