XBMC not using pre-existing artwork

so I've got some strange issue, that seems to have started with the Oct 20th linux nightly, but the problem also exists in a Dharma Win32 build, so I don't know where to go now.

I have my media all sorted with accompanying information.
Moves:
Code:
/9 (2009)/9.bluray.mkv
/9 (2009)/9.bluray.nfo
/9 (2009)/9.bluray.tbn
/9 (2009)/9.bluray-fanart.jpg

and TV Shows as follows:
Code:
/X-Files/tvshow.nfo
/X-Files/season01.tbn
/X-Files/season02.tbn
/X-Files/seasonxx.tbn
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - s01e01 - Pilot.avi
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - s01e01 - Pilot.nfo
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - s01e01 - Pilot.tbn
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - s01e02 - Deep Throat.avi
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - s01e02 - Deep Throat.nfo
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - s01e02 - Deep Throat.tbn
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - sxxexx - <ep name>.avi
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - sxxexx - <ep name>.nfo
/X-Files/Season 01/The X-Files - sxxexx - <ep name>.tbn

however when doing a scrape, as well as viewing the the media on xbmc, xbmc doesn't use the pre-existing artwork.
My Movies are now using xbmc generated thumbnails instead of the movie poster, and TV Shows are having xbmc generating episode thumbs from the actual video file, instead of using the .tbn thumb that's already there.

Whats odd is I've tested this in both Pre-Eden (Oct 20th Nightly), and Dharma (10.1 Stable), with two different Skins (Confluence, Aeon MQ3).

Why is xbmc suddenly ignoring all of my artwork?

any ideas on this new issue?

Should be either of these -

Code:
/9 (2009)/9 (2009).tbn
/9 (2009)/folder.jpg

By your own example, it already is one of those "<movie name>.tbn".
I've been using this format since I originally started using xbmc without an issue.
This problem only popped up with a fresh library scrape while testing the Oct 20th nightly.

Even when manually reloading a library item doesn't see the local results.

What I'm looking for is to see what changed recently that would make XBMC not see this type of naming convention anymore. Given that it happens in both Confluence & Aeon MQ3, i don't think it's a skin issue, but I could be wrong.

You're using folders so it should be <folder name>.tbn

that can't be correct though, as that wouldn't work at all for thumbnails for TV Shows.
