So is there any good way to keep trak of your actual disc-based movies?

You could do what I do for offline files...have a small video file named the same as the real video file that just says "Please insert the DVD". You would then have to try to find the right DVD so if you're a slob like me and have hundreds of movies thrown all over a room it doesn't work too good. At one time I had 2 400 disc Sony changers controlled with DVDlobby so that when you clicked on the movie thumbnail IR commands were sent to the changer to turn it on, navigate to the correct movie and play it. The interface wasn't as nice as XBMC but at the time it was the best option for megachangers.Thanks.
