XBMC X10 RF Remote not working
#1
Sad
I have been trying everthing possible and i am not new to linux, but for the life of me even all posts and how tos regarding the X10 RF USB receiver does not work.

The atilibusb driver does not work , I have even tried older kernels.
Loading the driver is fine , but trying to use irrecord to capture my UR86E remote buttons complains about /dev/lirc not found , when I do a link from /dev/lircd to /dev/lirc irrecord starts but the complains about segment fault.

I dont think that any post out there is correct and should be deleted cause it does not help.

Has anybody go a X10 ATI RF USB receiver to work with Ubuntu or even XBMC version 10.??

Surely an RF remote wouldn't send IR codes?

Hey mate,

People get XBMC to work with IR remotes without any other software. If you have an RF remote, you'll need the driver installed (and received connected) to your PC, and you'll need to utilise software like EVENT GHOST to pass commands to XBMC.

I have a Snapstream Firefly RF remote setup this way.
