Ok so one last follow up, I am going to go with the ATV2 if you still suggest it. What exactly is inside this box? Like a mini computer? Hard drive or what?
So I buy like 5 of these for 5 TVs and my main server running windows 7 and XBMC with shared folders in basement all connected through the network, and I somehow install xbmc for windows or mac on the atv2 I guess?

Also if it’s the mac version does it act exactly like with windows one only different platform? And there won’t be any issues connecting from the ATV2 to the windows xbmc (won’t know the difference?)

How much space is on these things? Can it store all the cast and movie info locally and trailers as well?

What is better ATV2 or a small htpc? Is there any flat HTPC out there yet possibly the size of a router lol . Any links to stuff you have used would be great..

It's pretty much a small computer, like a mobile phone.

The ATV2 uses the IOS version of eden beta 1 (atm), it's exactly the same as any other os's version (except navigation sounds don't work).

They have 8gb of internal flash memory - you'd be better storing all your thumbs etc on your server (using path substition or the like).

You could look at something like the zotac zbox or acer revo,etc.
I think there is a tiny little amd powered one about the same size as the ATV2 as well.
