Wanting to future proof it a little and maybe 1080p 3d at later date

Thinking of the following any comments welcome

CPU/GPU = AMD A6 X4 3650 = £70.03
MOBO = ASROCK A75M-ITX = £50.42
Memory = Kingston KHX1600C9D3X2K2/4GX = £19.92
Case + PSU = CIT MTX003B CASE- ITX- 300W = £32.00

Total £172.37

Would you get another CPU cooler/fan rather than use the stock AMD Huh? can i get away with using the stock cooler Huh??

Cheers JJ
First of all, great choice and great deal! You'll enjoy your A6-3650. It should be able to playback everything you throw at it, and it should handle all type of skins too.

As far as fan go, you can try everything that come with it first. If it is too noisy, you can easily replace the fan later. AsRock tend to be picky with RAM, you can find the supported RAM in this list- Memory Support List.

This board has no WiFi, so can you recommend a ITX board that does (that is not the ASUS F1a75 deluxe).
PS I am in NZ so I need a site with international shipping.

Hi,
could you let me know where you've found the AMD APU and Asrock board for that price?

Yeh no problem got them from :-

http://dealforu.co.uk/

I'm taking a risk as site has mixed feedback but with the potential cost saving i thought it was worth the risk with the prices

I will let you know how I get on with them.

Looks like I can get everything suggested in the original post by Eskro on Amazon now, with 2 x 2GB Kingston memory for $264 shipped, everything Amazon Prime eligible. I live in California, so no sales tax, and this would all get delivered to me in two days.

Kingston Hyper-X 1866MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL11 - $38.71
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0057Q4A7G

AMD CPU/GPU combo - $77.24 $46 less than on 2012-01-24
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005I2YL4G

Cooler Master 120mm Case Fan - $8.21 not the same fan as Eskro recommends but it has pretty good reviews
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026ZPFDE

ASRock Motherboard - $89.99
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005JI5B9I

MI-008 Case - $50.40
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001H0BA24

And right now, a 120GB SATA III Sandisk Extreme MLC SSD @ Newegg - [b]$129.99[/b[
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820171567

It looks like the ASRock motherboard doesn't do SATA III so I'll keep looking a bit longer.

So, I have the Mini-ITX board suggested at the beginning of this thread with the CASE APEX|MI-008 BK 250W RT. The CPU I grabbed was the A8-3850. I am looking for a slim quiet PSU for the setup, the fan kinda annoys me.

Any suggestions? Eskro?

Oh yeah:
SSD
No DVD or CD
No additional video card (don't need with with the A8)
2 sticks of DDR3 ram (4 gig).

thats why i link to parts i know that fits together in my HTPC guide.

Will the A8-3800 work instead of the A6-3600 and provide a performance boost? I see that it is also 65 watt.
Thanks!

Will this original build work flawlessly with OpenElec?

Well- A8-3800 has slightly faster 2.4GHz cores and slightly better HD6550D GPU than the lesser A6-3600 with 2.1GHz cores and HD6530D GPU.....and yes, A8-3800 is a better APU!

As it mentioned in here very often, AMD GPU is not very friendly with OpenElec but you can install a GT430 or GT520 in A6-3600 build to make life easier....
