BTW, I've appreciated condensed fonts in 3.0. Russian strings are usually longer by 20-25% in average, so they are more prone to truncation. Now truncations are significantly reduced.
One more note: it would be better to avoid using compound strings made of other strings. I understand that during developing it might seem easier just to assemble a new string out of existing ones, rather than to add a new string into an English language file, but what is good in English is not always good in other languages. In fact, English is one of few European languages that do not require grammatical agreement between words. So in other languages such strings may look weird, and they actually do.
yep, the width problem also exists for other european languages, that was one of the main reasons we changed it.
i agree too concerning compound strings, we already reduced the number compared to 2.0. if you want, feel free to exchange even more and send pull requests, we´ll happily accept them after 3.0 release.
