What os? I use a script to start/stop boblightd in Linux. Works well, only downside is the spam in the xbnc.log when boblightd isn't running, which leads to this question:
Anyway to disable the boblight add on logging in xbmc.log?

I'm sorry for my delay. I had so much work to do
Here are the photos and the videos showing what I meant:
These two are with custom settings:

These are with "fast" settings:

and a video:

You can see that there is a white light always on
This is my boblight.conf:

I'm using an arduino to control the leds. And with that boblight, everything was going perfect in the raspberry pi. So I think my problem is in the boblight xbmc addon.

i do not want to be slightly offtopic, but could you please help me with selecting a led string? i am planning to use it with a raspberry and a 42" tv, both for xbmc and also as a remote-controlled ambient lighting for my living room.
i would like to buy the cheapest and have found the following ones on ebay, however i am not sure whether they are long enough to cover the 42" tv. i plan to mount them with velcro, so even though i do not need water proofing, some casing on the leds might be useful for attaching the velcro.
so could you let me know which one would be the best for these purposes?

oh and I do not want to have an Arduino inbetween, i.e. i am shooting for this setup. Why is having an additional Arduino in the setup useful at all?
