Yes, I noticed the setting had changed when the problem first came up. It was set to 'off', probably due to value range change. I've tried setting it to 'on start/stop', I even rebooted after setting it to 'always'. The log and xbmc-xrandr output I took after that reboot. I double checked that to make sure it's set to 'always' after the reboot as well.
