I've written a useful plugin to keep a radio stream playing as an addition to the Kodi Radio Plugin. It recovers the last playing radio station after the network connection has gone down, or after the system has been restarted. You find some info about it on:
http://tuxfrank.altervista.org/.
The plugin (zip) can be found at:

I've been using the radio add-on for a couple of years now on my home stereo. Occasionally the radio station did not continue after a short network interrupt. Since this annoyed me, I decided to write a plugin that keeps monitoring if a stream is still playing. If not, it restarts the stream.
The basis functionality is quite simple. However, I also use the kodi mediaplayer to stream movies, play youtube films and music from my own NAS. Sometimes it did not work perfectly shortly after playing something else. It took several months of usage to get a perfect experience in all situations. I.e. After an album or playlist from my NAS has finished, the radio is started automatically (after 30-45 second or so, which gives me the chance to start another album or video before the radio kicks in). Now the music is always playing.
I've got Kodi installed on a hummingboard, that sometimes changed the audio output device from SPDIF to HDMI, so I've added a output channel checker to it as well. For me it's an essential addition to the radio app, I can imagine it is useful to others as well.
So therefor I decided to write a post here. Feel free to try it.
