Hi bluray,
Is not related to the runtime. If I move the MP4 outside of the library XBMC doesn't crash. I have the following runtimes installed:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 redistributable - x64 9.0.30729.6161
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.6161
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable - x64 10.0.30319
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable - x86 10.0.30319
All of them are the latest patched versions of the redistributables.
In fact, if I use Handbrake v0.9.5 for converting I get the error "Your source may be copy protected, badly mastered or in a format which HandBrake does not support". If I use v0.9.6 then I can convert to MKV but I can't see the audio in the MP4 file so the final MKV gets no audio. I'll post a question in the HandBrake forums for converting but I'm interested in knowing why XBMC can't use this file if I can play it with WMP or MPC-HC.
Thanks.
