tell me if im doing anything wrong. i click either a or start when i have my .avi or .mpg file highlighted to start a video right? nothing happens... build may 1, 2005 (1.1)

bad install likely.. i'd reinstall.. or if you want to check more exactly what's going on. hold x+y on startup (successfull if memdisplay on top of screen when started)..
try opening a file
fire up your ftp client connect to xbmc and get the xbmc.log (or xbmcold.log, if you rebooted)
look in that file to see what's going wrong
