Running xbmcbuntu, have an ati 5770. With VAAPI some videos shake like crazy and the voice is out of sync on all the others. VDPAU is just NVIDIA aint it?

Is there something else I need to do to get VAAPI working with ati?

Vaapi on AMD cards is not really stable. If you have time, try the following howto, which uses direct AMD (xvba via UVD) acceleration:
