Hi there...
I just installed XBMC RC2 on my apple tv (4.4.4 & 1000mbit cable connection), and I was hoping that it could play my TS files from my TV recording software.
The problem is that the sound is stuttering and there is no picture... It also buffering all the time. This happens with both SD & HD content.
The recording software is the plugin Recording Service to the program DVBViewer.
Is this a bug in the XBMC software, or is it something with the ATV2 ? I seems that the v10 could play TS files according to forums on the internet.
Hoping that someone can help...

There was never a V10 for atv2. So we are not really smarter now. You should provide the xbmc.log with debugging turned on and a mediainfo dump of one of those files (first link in my sig).

could you provide a 50mb example which reproduces the problem and upload it to dropbox for us or so?

Hi davilla,
Thanks for your answer... I really hope that you some day will figure out how to HW decode this kind of video.
Until then, I will have to wait :-)

What I don't get is why SD material worked fine before in February and May 2011 releases for instance, but in the latest versions they chop horribly, so it can't all be ATV2's lacking horsepowers. Something has been changed that makes interlaced SD playback worse.

Yep - we don't know which change it was (my guess - something to the threading prioritys). But all changes made to the code where needed to fix some other issues (which hit a bigger userbase then interlaced material). So even if we knew it - we won't revert because the base issue would reappear then. We don't have much room to play on these parts of code because of the special app (frappliance) concept used in atv2/ios.
