I uninstalled 2 skins that used the lyrics addon (Simplicity and Aeon MQ). I was then able to uninstall the lyrics addon fully. I then uninstalled spotimc. Grabbed the zip file again, re-installed and it's now working.
Keep in mind that you can make both Spotimc and CU LRC Lyrics play well together instead of disabling the latter one.

Just go to System / Addons / Enabled Addons / Services / CU LRCLyrics / Configure, and uncheck "Search for embedded lyrics" on the scrapers tab.
