Same error for me.

I tried following your suggestion over here but when I run "apt-get -f install" I get:

Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
Correcting dependencies... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
bsdiff gawk org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock
The following NEW packages will be installed:
bsdiff gawk org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock
0 upgraded, 3 newly installed, 0 to remove and 11 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 434kB of archives.
After this operation, 1331kB of additional disk space will be used.

Any other suggestions?

What did it install after it said about using additional disk space. Everything looked like it was going well there.

Hi there,

Nothing. That's where it sits indefinitely.

I assumed "1 not fully installed or removed." meant that it hadn't installed bsdiff gawk org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock

Perhaps, I've not waitied long enough, I'll give it another shot.

It should say are you sure you want to install and you need to either hit "y" or "n" or something along those lines. Also, bsdiff, gawk and xbmc-seatbelt are 3 separate packages so if it installs xbmc-seatbelt then at least xbmc should then work, not sure what the other two are for.

I'm doing this through Cyberduck (on my Mac). I don't get the yes/no option, it just seems to do it normally. Any idea what the command might be to install just xbmc-seatbelt ? If so, I could try that.

Ive just ran the same commands over SSH in terminal and it went through and installed everything fine. have you tried apt-get update. I also noticed this thread says iOS5.1 last i heard 5.1 isnt fully supported yet for ATV2 but work was starting on it today

apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock

i rather would try to install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 before - this will install all needed deps. And after that install the 11.0-1 deb over it with dpkg -i.

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=127369 dont think it matters to this, but the bandwidth that link is taking has disabled access via drop box. If you would like an alternate host I have somewhere I can put it up.

just found http://code.google.com/p/yangapp/downloa...eb&can=2&q= wgetting and will see if i can install

This isn't the same version for 5.1.

Thanks for the replies.
I was working from the thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=127369 which indicates 5.1 should now be a go.
I'm using Cyberduck, but then "Send Command". I've not tried Terminal - not sure where to start.
If I try apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock

I get

Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock: Depends: bsdiff but it is not going to be installed
Depends: gawk but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

From the thread above, I managed to download
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30371861/org.xbm...os-arm.deb ( which I can now see within Cyberduck in folder /var/root)

Running the next command dpkg -i org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_11.0-1_iphoneos-arm.deb

gives me:

(Reading database ... 3423 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 11.0-0 (using org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2_11.0-1_iphoneos-arm.deb) ...

echo "deb http://apt.saurik.com/ tangelo-3.7 main">/etc/apt/sources.list.d/saurik.list seems to work fine, and then apt-get update gives me:

Finally, apt-get -f install gives me:

but then hangs there, doing nothing.

I could boot into Windows and try WINSCP to see if that does anything different?

I'm not sure how to do it through Terminal :-(

Thanks again.

Thanks guys.

I figured out how to do it through Terminal, and I've managed to get it installed.

Cyberduck, for some reason, seemed to be my problem.

install instructions updated in the sticky thread for iOS5.1. The JB is missing a directory so this gives some trouble here.
