Audio format incorrect on mkv file in XBMC
#1
I attempted backing up my first bluray disc using makemkv last evening. I selected the HD Master Audio track and the main video file before backing up, I deselected all other tracks and subtitles. My question is this, when I play the mkv file in XBMC, my receiver is only seeing a DTS signal, not DTS HD Master Audio. I am running XBMC Eden on an Acer Aspire Revo 3700 connected to an Onkyo TX_NR709 via HDMI. Should I be hearing the DTS-HD Master track, Does XBMC even support DTS HD Master? I just want to make sure that I didn't make a mistake during the backup process.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi - XBMC does not support it natively yet - if you are on Win Vista or later use this build: https://github.com/downloads/DDDamian/xb...120405.zip

If on another platform you must wait until AE is merged in. Note that your hardware must support these formats or the above patch will not work.

See this thread for details: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=124600

If I have been able to help feel free to add to my reputation +/- below - thanks!

Thank you, I appreciate the quick response. I am using XBMCbuntu currently. I was assuming that was the answer, just wanted to make sure. I will wait until this feature is merged in.

Thanks again,

Matt
