I'd be using this box to run as a server, automagically downloading content and running XBMC to display mostly 720p content, but my TV does support 1080p (50" panasonic) and I may watch some movies at the higher resolution.

Thanks in advance!
Welcome aboard my friend. XBMC is a great community to learn and get great advice about the latest HTPC tech and media info!!

Two things...

First, you say you'd be using this build as a server to distribute content downloaded from Sabnzb+, Sickbeard and Couch Potato. I'm curious to know which type of server tech you've considered, whether software or RAID controlled...and have you considered any sort of back-up option for your files?

Second, I understand the goal is to keep your build under $299, but you may want to consider adding a smaller drive to your build in addition to your 2TB HD, preferably an SSD, but even a cheap spinner would be fine just as a boot option + XBMC assuming you will be using this build as your front-end for XBMC! If XBMC will be on a separate device then you'll be fine...

Welcome to the FCC(Fu*k Cable Club), very small right now, but our community is growing thanx in part to XBMC and their third part ad-on's!

GoodLuck...and happy HTPC'nWink
