graphic issues with A8 on Xbmcbuntu (how to update driver?)
#1
Hi there

I just assembled my HTPC. I found out (after trying openelec and windows) that with xmbcbuntu xbmc is running really nice. but except one thing: sometimes I have some graphic issues, which do not happen on windows or openelec. issues are things like repeat appearance of small white lines on the top right corner when in menu. and when watching a movie, it looks like there is one single interlace stripe showing up sometimes. it's hard to describe ; ) but as said, these things only happen on xbmcbuntu.

so I thought I could try to update the graphic driver, maybe it will help. I use an A8-3820 with integrated hd 6550d graphics.
I tried to follow a lot of different ways and howto articles to update the driver, especially: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=131973 and http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_...tion_Guide
but when i try "sudo amdconfig ..." I end up with a "command not found" error and xbmc just freezes when booting it.

I really would appreciate some help with this : ) Oh and I maybe need to tell you that this is the first time ever I do something with Linux...
thanks a lot!

p.s.: I'm going to reinstall xbmcbuntu completely, just to make sure everything I did will be undone.
