Hello
I would like to get some information about when will be available the hardware decoding for WMV files for iOS devices ?
This media center is so usefull app, and we need this feature.
I hope soon you will solve the problem.

As far as we can tell, it's not possible to access the other parts of the hardware decoder in iOS outside of h.264. At least, nothing is exposed, so any work to get other codecs to work would involve a lot of stabs in the dark and major, time consuming, reverse engineering. Even then, it might simply be impossible due to how Apple set things up. The only people who know for sure are Apple.
It certainly is something desired, and some very talented people have looked into it, but so far it doesn't look good.

I'm pretty sure the HW decoder on iOS will never decode WMV...
