i played around with moviesets as well and at the end of the day it turns out that putting sets in dedicated folders are urned out to be the best option.
why? images are not cluttered in seperated directories and if you use a various set of players images are displayed without the need of tweaks (folder / fanart in the root of the movieset ).
just my two cents :-)
