I'm using ME now for a while and I'm very happy with it. Great tool that runs on OS X.

My media is on a network share and every time ME starts it has to reload this large share, it takes quite some time (10 min.). Is there a way to have ME only load changes on the share?

I'm not really sure what changed there either. A while back when I was having the same problem I showed Komet how to fix it with transactions, as at the time the issue was largely related to it's use of sqlite more then the media actually being on the network, and for a while after that things were fast. But sometime since things went back to a crawl for me too. I have a pretty fast network, but the collection is quite large.

I'd be curious to see if someone with a large network based collection, but with a fast local drive (such as an SSD), where MediaElch stores its cache database, also has long waits and whether or not its the same issue as before. I'm not personally interested in debugging the issue per last time, but it wasn't tough to track down at all.

I use ME in my Mac Air, 128Gb SSD And wifi AC, my collection is 700 movies and almost the same for tv series stored in a Synolgy NAS connected to the router with ethernet Gb, and i am experiencing the same problem that you are detailing, everytime ME starts it takes 4 or 5 minuttes since it starts loading data. I did not know that ME has a cache database , in fact i believed that there was not a cache because it sems that it loads the data everytime.

If you want i can help you making test or sending log's.
