Am I missing something or does MediaElch not have a DB behind it? I don't know if I have something setup wrong or what, but every time I boot the thing up, it has to do a full scan of the media folders and rebuild the file lists. Seeing that im about to load about 35 tb of video and music, thats really not good if it doesn't cache the data into a DB. I won't be having this thing hammer my NAS scanning everything on every bootup.

Is this an oversight in MediaElch or is there some setting I just haven't figured out yet.

It does and no, it is actually pretty slow. At one point I got it to speed up substantially by adding transactions with a patch, then they added it on their side afterwards, but it in versions since it's slowed down quite a bit again. It's pretty annoying but not as bad as you'd think. I'm at about 22TB of content (via NFS) and it takes a couple minutes to run through when it loads up.

I would highly recommend selecting to rescan in the options for each of your sources though. Despite this sounding counter-intuitive, it takes a long time to load either way, and a full rescan barely takes any additional time at all, and you must do a rescan to pick up new episodes. I've thought about finding out why like before, but tbh, I lost interest after they stopped keeping github current.

Grumbling aside, it's still awesome software and easily one of if not the best scraper out there currently.
