MediaElch - MediaManager for Mac/Linux/Win (with music library scraping)

One problem that I have: In the menu item to load information (CTRL+F), I have tried switching to the other scrapers, mostly to see if they handle the "rating" part differently, which is one main feature that I want my media collection to have. After I selected "OFDb" there, it's not working and I can't change back. I see a spinning wheel, nothing happens, and the controls are inactive. I'd like to switch back to IMDB or some other scraper. Restarting the AppImage doesn't reset the "OFDb" selection and I'm stuck. How can I reset this?
Hi, MediaElch does not use ofdb.de directly. We instead use http://www.ofdbgw.org. Sadly the service seems to be down. We are always redirected to the same mirror which is offline. I've opened an issue for that: https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/671

You are correct, there is currently no option to cancel a search...  I've opened another issue (feature request) for that as well: https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/672

After waiting ~1min, the request should be canceled and you should be able to change the selected scraper. So:
1. open MediaElch
2. start a search request
3. wait 1-5min
4. select other scraper

If that does not work, you can reset MediaElch's settings (see: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-do...ngs-stored )

[syntax](MediaElch:29361): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

(MediaElch:29361): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_object_ref: assertion 'object != NULL' failed
[...]
Can I do anything to make these errors go away?

Another question, is it possible to sync the information in the program with MySQL / Maria DB for Kodi?
And lastly, is it possible to add the scraped data to the files themselves as metadata, too? Or would I need a third party tool for that?
Thanks!

These gstreamer issues are known, but I wasn't able to fix them. Gstreamer tries to load some libraries which aren't even required for MediaElch to work. I can't say if they'll be fixed anytime soon.
There is a Kodi synchronization option. But I'll be blunt: I've never tried it. The original MediaElch author implemented it and it hasn't been touched since. I'll gladly fix any bugs found, but I'm not testing it (yet) as there are way too many other issues that need attention first :-)

MediaElch does not support embedding information in movie files. Only nfo files :-)
