Linux Video playback borked - pulsing whitenoise sound
#1
Came back from holiday and now movies don't play properly. Thought at first it was just MKV container formats but no, other formats as well. Get a picture but the sound is pulsing white noise.

debug log here in pastebin (1 month expiry)

problem starts at about 22:33:02, trying to play 'A Chorus Line'

I can play the movies by streaming to another linux box using movie player, or even copying them to my android. so files are ok.

After noticing the problem, I updated the box (apt-get update/ugrade etc) but still no joy.

Any help appreciated.
