Match display to SUPPORTED framerates?
#1
Maybe I'm using XBMC incorrectly but my preference is to allow XMBC to switch display framerates to match that of the video being played... Often, this means 24Hz which my display supports. Recently, a friend gave me a series of videos that are from a PAL source (25Hz) and, when XBMC tries to do it's thing, my TV complains about an unsupported framerate.

Can I suggest that some conditions be added to these setup options whereby matching framerate can be specified for a selected list of "supported" rates (i.e. the users selects the rates supported by their display) but, if a file with a framerate not on this list is played, the other playback options are used as a fallback.

Of course, if I'm using XBMC in the "wrong" way... please let me know too.

Thanx.

we enable the rates reported to us by the system. something is malconfigured outside xbmc.

you can control it exactly as you want in any case. see advanced settings in wiki.
