Quote:Right now, my NUC (Win8 / rc6 mce remote) doesn't seem to want to wake up from sleep,... the blue light blinks on top,... but it won't wake up using the remote,... only if I press the on button will it wake up. ... I changed something, but at the moment, can't seem to figure it out,...
any suggestions?

Which remote do you have exactly? Does the receiver and an LED indicator that lights up when it receives a signal? (mine has on burried in the front clear plastic).

Another thing you can try is to boot off of an OpenELEC live stick and see if it works in there. At least it will tell you if it is the OS or the hardware itself.

No official release date from Intel.

Quote from legit reviews.com

" We wouldn’t be surprised if we see the Haswell versions of the NUC hitting the streets sometime in late October 2013. It feels like that is still so far away, but it will be here before you know it. Intel wouldn’t give us any information on pricing, but we expected them to be around the same MSRPs as the original Ivy Bridge NUCs. So, expect to see something in the $329-$399 price range for the kits"

the remote works, ... just have to figure out whatever I did to make it "not wake up" anymore.

Okay I think I'm starting to lose my mind here.
I took apart the NUC and removed everything possible, motherboard and all.

Then I put it back together.

It's reading 20c cooler now than before.. Peaking at about high 60s to low 70s Celsius when playing HD content. What the heck?

@Legion how are you liking that case? I'm thinking about maybe buying one.

Hummm...bios maybe? Also, in windows, check device manager and make sure it is set to "Allow this device to wake the computer" under the Power Management tab of its properties.

I like the case,... seems to do the job, looks good, still small,...dissipates the heat

I'll check that out, thank you!!

did you made any specific configuration/settings on Openelec or XBMC in order to take best performances/rendering of your NUC i3?
if yes, could you list them?

about haswell version why use mini hdmi instead of normal hdmi ?

So now we need a converter (i don't like converters that can worse the picture quality) Confused
Reply
There is no conversion, just a different plug on the end of your cable.

Well spotted but I wouldn't like to have that poking out the back of my HTPC. It looks to easy to bump and break the motherboard. I'd prefer to see a bit of cable in the middle, or just buy a mini to standard cable.

There's loads of cables of various length available, sure. But I'm not posting links to those. People can find them themselves.

but mine are set in the wall so if I had this problem. I'd use that adapter.
