I am having trouble updating my apple tv 2 from software 4.2.2 to the latest untetherable jailbreakable software which i think is 5.1. However, whenever i try to update it on the apple tv 2, it says, "Apple TV is up to date." How can i get the latest version that i can jailbreak? Here is my debug log:

Rejailbreak using Seas0nPass. That will take care of updating as well as the inevitable rejailbreak. It will also prevent you from going to the vary latest ATV2 software version, which I don't think is jailbroken yet.

i looked up this website:

it says that i have to have the 5.0.2 version, i only have 4.2.2. or should i use this site:http://support.firecore.com/entries/359097

and use a saved signature from an older version?

5.0.2 is the version it provides, not what it requires.

Just run Seas0nPass on it and you'll be in business. Keep in mind that any iOS updating or re-jailbreaking will erase your existing settings, so you may wish to check out the backup settings section on the iOS FAQ (wiki).
