UPNP: expose folders/files possible?
#1
I've searched through the UPNP wiki articles and here on the forums. Some people seem to be asking the same thing in different ways, but I don't seem to have come across an answer yet.

As you know, XBMC only exposes the meta-data virtual folders of your media libraries through UPNP. For me this is fine for TV/movies, but not for music. My music library is far too unwieldy for this, what I really need is simply to expose the folders and files themselves. (background: compilations and best of's etc that do it, you end up with an enormous number of albums/artists - I'm using BubbleUPNP's internet proxy server/app to publish these so I can use them on the road, and browsing these virtual folders is painfully slow and laborious)

Is there any way to hack the UPNP server in XBMC (v11) to publish the folders as well? Most of my other UPNP servers are quite happy to do that, but not XBMC.

Nope.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
