For instance, we've confirmed the SNB/IVB Celerons can bitstreaming HD audio and that there is no need for most HTPC duties for a discrete GPU for either the Intel or AMD APUs (his suggested Intel builds all say + GT210). It is also not updated for Ivy Bridge, for instance I'd pick i3-3225 over i3-2105 these days.

Dougie covers all that I was going to add. Eskro was informed of the few errors in the first post some time ago. I suggested the guide from Assassin because all the builds he recommends are from first hand experience.

Any suggestion? 3D video, HD audio and hard core gaming is not what I am searching now, eventually I could think of updating the hardware in a second phase.
Thank you in advance
Louie
At that price range, you might be able to achieve it with this "AMD A6-5400K+ASRock FM2A75M-ITX" combination. If you want to playback 3d and some games in the future, you'll be able to do it with this AMD Trinity....you'll have the latest technology, and it's the same price as A6-3500....

Newegg has a great combo deal on the A6-3500 going right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealD...bo.1101974

A6-3500
ASRock A75M-ITX

$147.98 with free shipping. This is the best combo price I've seen them offer (having bought many over the past few months).

For $14 more you can get the A6-5400K/FM2 A75 combination: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealD...bo.1102171

A6-5400K
ASRock FM2 A75M-ITX

$154.98 + $6.98 shipping. It is nice to see them offering this combination now though you might be able to do better with some shopping around.

It is the same price as SuperBiiz.....I still go for the A6-5400K instead of the end of life FM1 socket....it's might be in the endanger specie list very soon....

Technically speaking if you don't need 3D Intel is cheaper than the A6.

It continues to be incorrectly stated on this forum that AMD is cheaper.

If it is the previous models, it is about the same price- AMD A4-3400 Llano 2.7GHz vs Intel Celeron G530....

For me, I preferred the latest AMD A6-5400K for slightly more expensive. For my next build, it have to be able to playback 3d because 3d LED will be mounted on the wall to go along with it....

If you are not concerning about 3d, a4 APU should be on your list.....if the lesser E-serie can handle 1080p, the a4 should be good to go.....

I'm afraid that most of us is going for 3d capability these days, and the latest A6-5400K might be the cheapest all-in-one HTPC you can build for 3d.....

Again, I specifically mentioned those NOT needing 3d. And there are many that have no interest at all in 3d.

This is the first time I can remember any regular poster recommending the A4 APU. I am not sure why now. There's been long agreement here that it's not a good value.

Let's try to clear the water.
Money is an issue since I am going to have a baby soon and I don't want to spend to much knowing that next months will be expensive.
So, my idea, so far is.
CPU CPU AMD A-Serie A6-3500 2.1GHz 65W Socket FM1 Llano GPU HD 6530D Boxed AD3500OJGXBOX
MoBo Asrock A75M Socket FM1 AMD A75 Llano DDR3 SATA3 USB3 MicroATX
RAM DDR3 Corsair XMS3 PC3-12800 1600MHz 4GB (1x4GB) 1.5V CL9 (I was thinking to buy 2x4 gb modules, but I will considere 2x2gb as suggested)
SSD OCZ Vertex 3 60GB 2.5" Lettura 535MB/s Scrittura 480MB/s Sata3 VTX3-25SAT3-60G

Then there is the case problem. If I buy a micro case the things I mentioned so far can be mounted there? And, will I be able to add the 2tb hd I own? Will i have space for a wi-fi card?
Any suggestion for the case?
If I am not mistaken, with the configuration that I am trying to build I should have power enough to use xbmc for my purposes (streaming of online content and 1080p movies)
Which fan are you suggesting that you consider silent?
Then, last question:power? How much power do I need to make it work? Is the power supply alredy included in the case or do I have to buy it?
I am traying to be the more specific i can.
Thank you again

Aha,...money's tight huh,....brother,..are you in the right place.
I think most of us are in the same boat,...and sometimes, it seems that it's sinking fast.

As for a case, take a look at my build thread and you'll see the case I used. The Silverstone ML03B
It works so well as far as parts,..air flow,.and the way it looks when done.
The other thing is,...it is extremely easy to work inside of it,...some of those micro cases are not for someone who building for the first time.
This case also needs no additional fans,..so that cuts down on any noise.
As far as power supply,...I'd suggest what bluray suggeste to me,..use a Silverstone PSU.
Again,..see my thread for pictures and links to all parts.

As I said before, Thanks Beer (another poster,...and no, I'm not talking to a stein) for helping me when I was asking questions like this. Big Grin

I'm wondering where do you find G540 for $35. It's $49 on Newegg....

Regardless of everything else that's been said, at the end of the day this configuration will work just fine for an HTPC and is a good value.

Here's the case GortWillSaveUs mentions: http://www.ebay.it/itm/SILVERSTONE-Case-...1180289147

One of these power supplies:
http://www.ebay.it/itm/FSP300-60GHS-Fort...0929814977
http://www.ebay.it/itm/Be-Quiet-Alimenta...0855123753

would be a great fit in the ML03

You'll need one of these to mount them in the case:
http://www.ebay.it/itm/SFX-to-PS2-bracke...0748553963

Or, as Gort mentions, a Silverstone ATX power supply. With the ATX power supplies you just need to watch the depth if using an optical drive.

Though, I really like this one Smile and it comes with the power supply: http://www.ebay.it/itm/Techsolo-Case-Htp...0824912405
