Solved Xbmc won't boot, error during loading
#1
Hello guys

Here is my situation:
I have a HTPC (xbmcbuntu) with a motherboard Gigabyte ga-eg45m-ds2h (http://bit.ly/SVs1Xe) and an old Asus graphic card (don't recall what exactly, something super basic) with S-Video connector to connect to my old "3D tv" (1 meter cube if you see what I mean Big Grin)
This motherboard also has an integrated graphic card with DVI and HDMI connectors.

So today, I bought an HDTV and I tried to connect my HTPC to it with a HDMI cable...
I noticed that I needed to remove the Asus graphic card to be able to get an image on tv through the onboard HDMI... ok... fine!

But then when Xbmc boots I got an error during the loading stating ""Unable to load lirc kernel modules. Verify your selected kernel modules in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf"
And errrr... well I got no idea what to do except maybe reinstall it all, but I have seen that post http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=126830 and I'd like to know what I'm dealing with first...

Any ideas?
Thank you for your attention Wink

Ok... didn't find out why...
My guess was the change in graphic cards and drivers... but couldn't figure out what the real issue was...
Anyhow... bought an SSD, installed Xbmcbuntu, added my original HDD as storage disk of course, copied xbmc settings to the SSD... aaand done !
Everything works now Smile
