Looking at building my first htpc. Could anyone give me a little advice on some of these barebone bundles? Low price for components seems like a great starter build for me. I'll be looking for something more presentable once I get passed the xbmc learning curve.
Ultimately, I'm looking to roll my own freenas server pushing to a few htpcs that are capable of bitstream audio, 1080p vid, and some light to decent gaming with emulators.
ASUS mobo, i3 dual core, 8gb ram
gigabyte mobo, athlon x3, 8gb ram
asus mobo, separate graphics card
gigabyte mobo, amd x4
Not necessarily looking for specific recommendations, general advice on how these will be able to meet my needs. Thanks for all the help.
