SMB Password Request for Large Folder
#1
I have my E:/ drive shared on SMB from my Windows box. When I attempt to access the E:/movies folder, which contains a large number of files, it asks for a password. No other folders in my E drive have that issue of requesting a password, and E:/ root is the only share I have on my computer. Is it possible XBMC times out waiting for the file list to load then it thinks there is a password? I have had this issue with both Eden and Frodo, and from both my ATV and Pivos XBMC boxes.

I had a similar issue with one of my machines,

What I did was add a user password in Windows of the server, and used that to access the shared drive through XBMC on the client machine.

Other client machines didn't have this issue though, and later set-up machines haven't had the same issue either.

I know this doesn't get to the root cause, but it was a work around that worked for me.
