Frodo - Still No Lucid Lynx binaries at Team-XBMC PPA
#1
Hi,

Can someone at Team XBMC tell me when the binaries for Lucid Lynx and up (only Oneiric and up are available) will be available?

The XBMC Linux installation documentation (HOW-TO:Install XBMC for Linux) incorrectly states that the Team XBMC PPA is able to provide binaries for Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) and up.

Thanks very much in advance,

Benoit

Thanks Ned!

I'm now unable to downgrade my XBMC 13.0 alpha (that I mistakenly got on another unstable PPA when trying to do my upgrade) to the official 12.0 Frodo...

When I try to downgrade, I get this error:

Code:
xbmc@xbmc:~$ sudo apt-get install xbmc=3:12.0-1~ppa1~lucid -V
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
xbmc: Depends: xbmc-bin (< 3:12.0-1~ppa1~lucid.1~) but 3:12.9.1-git201301301938~e31cb54-1~ppa1~lucid is to be installed
E: Broken packages

Any idea?

Thanks in advance,

Benoit

Code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge xbmc xbmc.bin
sudo apt-get -f
dpkg-reconfigure -a
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install xbmc xbmc.bin

and make sure your libtag is installed MUST be version 1.8 minimum
