I'm using XBMC 12.3 in OSX Mavericks 10.9.2, and all streams in this add-on only plays the audio.
Do I need to install anything? In windows was working ok

Change stream type to smil (m3u8) in the addon settings, tested in osx mavericks.
However, I really need to spare some time to rewrite this addon, the code is pure rubish.

Olha tenho usado o addon do RTP play pra ver o the voice mas o vídeo da terceira parte nunca aparece. E como vivo no Reino unido a página da RTP bloqueia me o conteúdo, portanto o teu addon é a minha única opção.

Hello,
the "mark has watched" feature doesn't works, even if it gets auto marked as watched after you watch something, if you go the another page, and return there, the mark is gone
also, i can't access tv programs now on my htpc, it gives script error when i choose "B" on the programs list, but it is working on my pc, strange.

cachirro this addon will be written from scratch once I get some free time from other projects. I did this almost an year ago and it still works which says something about the stability of the webpage.
I'm planning in re-writting it (or at least writting it properly) and send it to xbmc.org repository (as the addon doesn't need too many updates).
da cruz: I've not used the addon for a while but I remember it only lists 2 parts of a "tvshow" (almost all of them just have 1 part), I was not even aware of shows made of 3 parts in RTP site.

Even mickey who wrote the code you reused has removed his GA code from his add-ons.

One of the reasons I want to write it from scratch is also that GA crap. You don't want me to know what you watch nor I have any interest in knowing that. I'll try to find some free time during this weekend/next week to write it again.
So if any of you have any feature requests, this is the time to make them.

This addon has been written from scratch and it is now in xbmc.org official repository. Unfortunately, the addon_id is different from the one stored in the previous repository so you will need to uninstall the repository and the addon and install the new version from xbmc repository.

Hi Enen,
I had bee using the previous version for a number of months now and has been working great until the automatic update on Sunday. (version 2.0.0.)
When i try to stream the channels, nothing happens. It just shows as if it has played for 14 seconds then does nothing.
I am using RaspBMC.
Do you have any recommendations?

Change the stream type in addon settings and check which of them work for you

Great work with the 2.0.0 version. Thanks for taking my earlier request/suggestion in the spirit it was given 
Looking at your code, I see you're detecting the Raspberry Pi, and setting versao to 'rtmp'. I have a Raspberry Pi model B, with the MPG2 and VC1 licenses, and I had to switch it to "SMIL PL", which if I understand correctly, would be versao = 'm3u8'.
I'm using Raspbmc with the stable release (XBMC 13.2).
Looking at your code, I see you're detecting the Raspberry Pi, and setting versao to 'rtmp'. I have a Raspberry Pi model B, with the MPG2 and VC1 licenses, and I had to switch it to "SMIL PL", which if I understand correctly, would be versao = 'm3u8'.

Problem is that it is not constant, they change it from time to time. Better leave a setting for it than to let the user choose the stream everytime he hits a live channel.
For now, if you can't watch the live streams just change the stream type in the addon settings. If it keeps like this for some time I'll change the streams for the pi in a future update.
However I would like to keep updates at a low level
