Overheating/Shutting Down on Menus only - not Playback
#1
Sad
I have been using my Jetway Mini-Top for a couple years now and it's been working fine until recently. It's been shutting down instantly and my guess is that it's from overheating which seems to be a common problem with the Mini-Top (runs very hot). However, it only seems to shut down when on the XBMC menus, not during any movie playback. I can watch a movie or two for several hours, but if I stop on browse through the XBMC menus for a few minutes, it will shut down.

Is there anything I can do in the Windows or XBMC settings that could help alleviate the problem while browsing the menus?

I've already removed the side cover to the Mini-Top, but I'm not sure there's much more I can do to solve the overheating issue. (suggestions welcomed!)

Have you tried playing around with the Dirty_regions (wiki) settings in advancedsettings.xml to see if some combination might reduce the demand on system resources and, consequently, reduce the heat generated by your system?

I actually read about that a little earlier today.

I'll give it a try and see if that helps at all.
