The strange is that all channel working well on their website (Rai.tv)

Next time please say you are using a smart DNS sevice (!!!) and you are located outside Italy (!!!). It is not strange at all that using your smart DNS provider you can watch the stream on rai.tv web site and not from this addon. This addon use Android streams. They are not the same.

I don't think that's a good idea.
Moreover I don't think this issue can be related to the DNS you are using.
Anyway, you can try with OpenDNS.

i just installed this great Addon on my kodi on Raspberry Pi 2 but video streaming is sooooo slow, after some minutes the video stops and hangs then start again for some seconds and stops again; sometimes it goes in "Pause" by itself.
I can't understand if the issue is my poor ADSL or something into the Raspberry.
My dumb question is: I noticed that videos are in HD, there is a way to tell the addon to bring the "low definition" stream instead of the HD ?

Streams support different resolutions. It would be possible for Kodi to choose the appropriate one depending your network speed. But I don't know if Kodi handles this feature.

I think this is definitely a network issue.
On an older Raspberry pi (Model B) never had this problem with an ADSL Telecom Fibra 30 mbps. Stream works very smoothly.

I know that Digital Divide in Italy it's still an issue. Luckily I live in a city where FTTC connectivity is available.
It was just to confirm that if you have streaming problems, this should not be related at all nor to the Raspberry nor to Kodi. In order to be able to receive the stream properly you need at least 5Mbit stable bandwidth.

hi there,

the pre-requisite to tell kodi in general (or whatever addons you are using) to bring the SD stream instead of HD is that both HD and SD streams are available from the source.

as far as I know, content providers arranges all the different video resolutions into a single m3u8 playlist which kodi is capable to understand.

that said, you can limit internet speed access in kodi systems settings: doing this way kodi chooses video resolution in m3u8 playlist based on internet speed you have specified.

Just tried the Rai.tv app on the Apple TV 4 and can't believe the "diretta tv" option was removed from the TVos version. Glad this app is working great, nightflyer is the man.
