I would suggest you fork his git, add your skins and request a pull so that jason could add it to his work...
Traditionally you don't take someones work and call it your own, when all you did was change the look...

Um no. Jason can add skins, as you can see from my signature, I used to make them and give them directly to him. I noted that Tman had made changes to the epg (the changed python script), and therefore suggested that he fork it, since he had mentioned previously wanting to change somethings within the actual PTV add-on.

Still think it's a horrible idea... When I started skinning for the tvguide addon it originally required editing some code... but then Tommy and I came up with variables that are accessible within the skin so there was no need to edit code... This isn't considered creating a new release, just an addition to someone else s work...

The work tman and thedarkonaut released is great... keep it up...

Ok now we're off topic, but still. If someone is taking someone else's work, modifying it, improving it, changing it in any way, it's perfectly fine. As I said before there was a split between PseudoTV and TVTime. Jason, by himself made PTV, and then it was forked since the TVTime creator wanted to set it up differently and add features jason had no intent on adding. For another example see Plex and XBMC.

Tman: That nox info screen looks great! I do have a question though. Will something else pop up if we don't have 16:9 bits for the lower right? Some movies I have don't have them, so it would look a bit weird to me I think. Are they more prevalent than the last time I looked?
Nothing to see here....

Hmm, I don't think this looks weird. I don't have a ton of 4:3 material to show but this Family Guy should work, that's what you mean right? Also, added stars since my last post. Big Grin

Or do you mean the actual image, that's clearart not a thumb.

Your correct we are off topic, and I apologize to tman... this is my last post on the subject...but you are way off point here TVTIME had MAJOR modifications to PTV!

I use more of a theme concept for my Aeon Nox set up and always wanted PseudoTv to fit in better with that overall concept better. Credit goes to Tman for getting the ball rolling. Obviously it still needs some tweaks but if anyone's interested I'll post the files once it's done.

Info screen - Tv shows

Hey Man what is the code in the TV shows you did for the episode info? If you look at darknauts skin as well as tmans the tv shows currenly show season and episode twice. yours doesnt. Can you share the code for that?

Also what is the code to display the IMDB ranking?

and does anyone know the code to display the weather icon?

I'm at work right now so I can't post the answers to your questions about the specific code, but to answer what you asked about the duplicate episode/season info. I would check in the settings section of PseudoTv and make sure that the option to display season/episode info is disabled. I'm really not sure why that was added because its already in the XML code, but that's most likely your problem. Disable that in the settings menu and you should be all set.

(drool) Looking EXCELLENT!! For this, I would (most likely) go back to Nox. PTV is something that I use more then ANYTHING else atm. Great work!! Any ideas when it will be released?

I had meant the clear art it looked like one of those 16:9 squares art things to me. I really love the look of it!

ARYEZ, I personally would be interested in using your skin. I really like the way it looks and I like the colors. So you get one vote from me anyway! Smile

I think what I'm going to do is finish up the Nox version and see if phil likes it enough to include with Nox, then work on my original skin and really clean it up for a separate release and maybe talk to the PTV Fork guys to maybe release my own or just use it with theirs.

Still a bit more to do, not sure if I want to add a "Now Playing" over the fanart thumbnail or not... I'm not a skilled skinner so this takes a decent amount of time for me to do and time is not too free right now.

tman12: I haven't been following this thread in about a week or so, so I finally got around to trying out thedarkonut's release, which seems to be a good balance in timing for the fade in and out. What I've noticed is a number of guide designs posted by a number of folks, mostly thedarkonut, but also a few others whose names I can't remember ATM. What I personally liked most (everything I've seen so far is pretty cool, I just mean the one I would use if I had to choose) of all the ones I've seen was the version you last showed:

From what I just quoted, your plan is to finish the current 'black' guide that you've been working on for Nox in the quote, and then return to this 'blue' one.....am I correct?

Yes, I really love the blue guide. I'm learning a lot more about skinning working with Nox code for my Nox PTV skin so I think I can clean up the blue version a good bit, the guide was pretty much perfect I just have to edit the info page and make minor changes to the guide. Pretty much the complete opposite of where I am with the Nox version, info screen is almost 100% complete but the guide needs some work. Not too much work, just have to find the time. I'm thinking this will be wrapped up this weekend though... both releases. Big Grin

Kodi 19 + Arctic: Zephyr Reloaded
nVidia SHIELD 2017 + WD My Book
LG OLED65B8PLA + LG SP11RA 7.1.4

I'm not sure what you mean by this, they are the same pictures... they both have clearArt in them. The image on the left is the thumb of the video playing, for TV it is a capture of the show and for Movie it is a poster and the image on the right is clearArt for both of them. Are you saying you don't like the TV thumb? I might change it to poster, but not sure yet cause I kind of like the TV thumb.
