You can try using texturecache.py - replace:

shellcmd(["kodi-send", "--action", "Notification(%s,%s)" % (header, text)])
with:

shellcmd(["X:\path\to\texturecache.py", "send", header, text])

but if that doesn't work then just remove the "notify()" calls.
