I was wondering if there was an add on that would allow you to change audio output device? What I'd like to be able to do is quickly and easily change my audio output device from the main menu. Most of the time I watch with sound going through my receiver, so I have it bitstreaming DTS and AC3. However on occasion I don't want to use the stereo, and would like to listen to basic sound on my TV.
Currently, I have to go into Settings -> System -> Audio, change to 2.1, deselect bitstreaming, and change my audio output device. Would be a nice feature to be able to toggle between a couple of pre-defined settings from the main menu via an add on that you could create a shortcut to or something.
WMC has Audio Render Updater, that functions similar to this, would be nice if something similar existed for XMBC
